2. Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are typically set in response to actions you take — such as logging in, setting your privacy preferences, or filling out forms. You can set your browser to block these, but it will cause parts of the Platform to stop working.
Examples:
- Authentication session tokens (keeping you logged in)
- Security tokens (CSRF protection)
- Load balancer cookies (routing requests to the correct server)
- Cookie consent state (remembering your preferences)
Analytics & Performance Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform — which pages are visited most, how long users spend on each page, and where errors occur. All data is aggregated and anonymized. We use this to improve the Platform experience.
Examples:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, _gat) — usage metrics
- Firebase Analytics — mobile app performance
- Hotjar — session recordings and heatmaps (with anonymization)
- Internal logging — error rates and API performance
Functional / Preference Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferred language, currency, or last search location. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
Examples:
- Language preference
- Currency selection
- Recently viewed Photographer profiles
- Search filter preferences
- Notification preferences
Marketing & Targeting Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests. They track your visits across websites and enable us to show you ads on partner platforms such as Google and Meta. We only use these with your explicit consent.
Examples:
- Google Ads remarketing (_gcl_au)
- Meta Pixel (Facebook retargeting)
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our Platform are placed by third parties whose services we use. These third parties have their own privacy policies and cookie practices that we do not control. We encourage you to review their policies:
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and opt-out tools at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Meta: Facebook Pixel for retargeting. See Meta’s Cookie Policy at facebook.com/policies/cookies.
- Hotjar: Session analytics and heatmaps. Opt out at hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track.
- Razorpay / Stripe: Payment processing cookies set during checkout to prevent fraud. These are necessary for secure payment processing and cannot be disabled.
- LinkedIn: Insight Tag for B2B analytics and retargeting (opt-in only).
5. Mobile App Tracking
Our iOS and Android applications do not use browser cookies. Instead, they use equivalent technologies:
- Device identifiers: We use anonymized device identifiers (IDFV on iOS, Android ID on Android) for analytics and fraud prevention. We do not use IDFA (advertising identifier) without your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS.
- Firebase Analytics: Collects app usage data. Can be disabled in your device settings under Privacy and then Analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports to help us fix bugs. Contains no personal data.
- FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging): Used for push notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings or in the app.
6. Managing Your Preferences
6.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit our website, you will see a cookie consent banner. You can accept all cookies, customize your preferences by category, or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” in the footer of any page.
6.2 Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. Here is how to access cookie settings in common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
6.3 Opt-Out Tools
- Google Analytics opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) opt-out: optout.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out: optout.networkadvertising.org
6.4 Do Not Track
Our Platform currently does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. We are monitoring developments in DNT standards and will update this policy if our practices change.
7. Impact of Disabling Cookies
Disabling different categories of cookies has different effects on your experience:
- Strictly Necessary: Disabling these will prevent you from logging in, using the booking system, or using payment features. The Platform will not function properly.
- Analytics: Disabling these means we cannot measure Platform performance. Your experience is not affected, but we lose the ability to identify and fix issues.
- Functional: Disabling these means your preferences will not be saved between sessions — you may need to re-enter settings each time you visit.
- Marketing: Disabling these means you may see generic ads rather than ads tailored to your interests. Your data will not be used for retargeting.
8. Policy Updates
We review and update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, display a notification on the Platform.
We recommend reviewing this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
